Communication Network System

Rationale and Coverage
Distributed Communication Network System is a new integrated science and technology, which focuses on the distributed network infrastructure, communication protocols, data transmission QoS and Security. It holds huge potentials on service improvement and cost reduction in a wide range of applications, for example, cloud computing, edge computing, sensor networks, energy internet, intelligent transport, and consumer electronics. Various applications require different technologies to implement distributed communication network.
The modern data center, providing unlimited computing resources, has become a practical concern and has attracted significant attention in recent years. To satisfy the wide spectrum of composite applications, data center network (DCN), one type of distributed communication network system, becomes startlingly large with more and more computing and communication capacities. Complex network structure with cheap switchers needs efficient and high fault tolerant communication technologies to satisfy a wide range of cloud computing applications.
Another type of distributed communication network is wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Different from data center network, WSNs is a self-organized system combined with a large number of low-power sensor nodes, which are connected by a wide range of wireless communication technologies, such as 4G/5G cellular networks, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, RFID, and UWB. In addition, QoS requirements from various applications present big challenges.
To ensure success of the applications under these challenges, many issues remain to be solved for distributed communication networks, such as scalable and smart communication protocols in data center network, low energy consumption, anomaly detection and security transmission method for WSNs. This workshop seeks papers describing novel research and development in the field of distributed communication network system. During the workshop session, researchers will be able to exchange their state-of-the-art research experiences and ideas interactively. We invite original contributions on different topics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • QoS and Traffic Engineering over Distributed Communication Network System
  • Network infrastructure control technology over Distributed Communication Network System
  • Novel Data Center Networks architectures and protocols
  • Risk/ anomaly detection in data center network, sensor networks or complex network systems
  • Wireless Sensor Networks smart routing, internetworking, and transport protocols
  • Security transmission technology in Distributed Communication Network System
  • Distributed Communication Network System testbed, experiment platform, and standard activities

    Submissions should include abstract, 5-10 keywords, and the e-mail address of the corresponding author and be in PDF format. Each submission must not exceed 6 pages in the IEEE 8.5'' x 11'' two-column format with 10-12 point font, including tables and figures.

  • Submission Guidelines
    Full paper submission must be at most 8 pages in the IEEE proceedings 8.5'' X 11'' two-column template with 10-point font, including tables, figures and references. The final version will be limited to 6 pages in IEEE proceeding format for conference papers. Up to 2 extra pages may be purchased. Paper submissions are single blind and Program Committee members will review all papers. Submissions should include author information, abstract, keywords and be in PDF format.
